Clear Channel France is the second-largest market after the United States, operating 140,000 displays for a turnover of 253 million €, and employing nearly 1,200 people in 2009. We hold a major presence in the billboard format and we are the leader in outdoor advertising operating both in shopping centers and in car parks located in city centers. Clear Channel France is a key operator thanks to the coverage of 45% of the major cities in French Regions and with an exclusivity in the localities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. We operate exclusively in Lille and Lyon metros and in the tramway systems of nine major regional centers, and on buses in 37 largest urban areas. We are the only company dealing with all outdoor advertising formats.
In 2010, Clear Channel launched a new commercial offer based on advertiser's needs named “Le Carré”: four product ranges to meet customer's requirements. It symbolizes the four guidelines of our offerings which will allow us to easily find efficient solutions to meet our clients’ objectives for their communications, to have a quick, clear sense of their media strategy and to combine performance and utility. These four guidelines correspond to four new positions sharply focused on our client's needs:
Billboards: With more than 48,000 faces in 2010, Clear Channel France is the only outdoor advertiser offering a full coverage of the whole French local and national territories in both urban and rural areas, thanks to a presence in:
Street furniture: Clear Channel operates 3,000 concessions in France with 50,000 panels in 24 major French cities of more than 50,000 inhabitants and exclusively in the localities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. These last years, we have been awarded major contracts with towns and cities of more than 100,000 inhabitants, including Annecy, Bethune, Bordeaux, Caen, Dijon, Montpellier, Mulhouse Nantes, Nîmes, Orleans, Perpignan, Rennes (and Reims by 2011). Clear Channel France operates also the advertising concessions for the tramways in Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpellier, Nancy, Nantes, Orleans (and Reims by 2011). Our networks include 2sqm and 8sqm panels.
Transit: Clear Channel handles contracts with bus companies throughout France, including Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Nancy, Nice, Toulon (and Reims by 2011). Clear Channel France also operates in the two most important metro lines in region: Lille and Lyon. Clear Channel offers 17,000 networks of bus sides, backs, and vinyl wrapped displays and Metro
Point of Sale: The Clear Channel Malls (20,000 panels) division was created in 2001 to handle exclusive advertising rights for 3 major real estate groups: Carrefour (worldwide contract), Unibail and Hammerson (domestic contracts). These contracts cover 45% of French shopping centers and offer networks of scrolling 8sqm and 2sqm panels, plasma and LED screens.
Car Parks: Due to its exclusive partnership with Vinci Park, Clear Channel is the French leader in communication in car parks located in city centers (5,000 panels of 2sqm). Now Clear Channel has equipped 535 parking lots in most France's large cities among which 200 are in Paris. The 2nd NETWORK: In September 2010, Clear Channel France launched the world’s first virtual display advertising network, "the 2nd Network". It will operate display advertisements in dedicated spaces which will feature on mass-audience TV drama shows.
Digital Offer: Clear Channel is a key operator in digital communication in France. CCF operates with 173 plasma screens in the major French shopping centers, LED screens right in the center of the city of Nantes and in the well-known shopping centers of Carré Sénart (Paris) and La Part Dieu (Lyon) ; Since March 2010, Clear Channel is operating the biggest digital screen (66sqm) in La Défense, the 1st Business Center in Europe.
