New Jersey is one of only three states with no state DMA. Because it’s sandwiched between two major media markets, all counties fall within either the New York or Philadelphia DMA. The NY DMA is comprised of 29 counties, with 13 of those located in northern New Jersey, contributing nearly 5.5 million adults 18+ to the #1 media market. New Jersey’s diverse population includes 22% Hispanic, 13% African American, and 11% Asian. The state boasts a well-educated workforce with a high concentration of scientific professionals, and a population with a median age of 41, that on average, earns a HHI of nearly $132,000, owns 1.86 vehicles, and drives an average of nearly 135 miles per week.
